Steel, non-ferrous metals, rare metals, alloys, inorganic non-metals, plastics, rubber, fibers, paper, etc., which are mainly produced and scrapped with minerals as raw materials, are all called renewable resources. In recent years, with the country's emphasis on environmental protection, my country's renewable resource industry has developed rapidly. At the same time, in order to encourage residents and enterprises to recycle renewable resources, the state has also issued and implemented a series of policies.

As an important part of the construction of ecological civilization, the implementation of resource recycling is an important way to achieve green and low-carbon development. According to the calculations of the Planning Institute of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, investment in environmental protection during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period will increase to about 2 trillion yuan per year. The total social environmental protection investment is expected to exceed 17 trillion yuan. Among them, investment in the renewable resources industry may reach 1.700 billion yuan, accounting for 10%.

However, it is worth noting that since July 2019, Shanghai has taken the lead in implementing the "Regulations on the Management of Domestic Waste of Shanghai", which divides residents' domestic waste into four categories: hazardous waste, recyclable waste, wet waste and dry waste. Among them, recyclable garbage belongs to waste that is suitable for recycling and resource utilization, and is one of the important sources of renewable resources. According to forecast and analysis, the action of waste sorting will further release the market of circular economy, and the renewable resource industry, solid waste treatment industry, waste sorting industry, and sanitation facility industry will usher in a dividend period.

In summary, with the country’s increasing emphasis on environmental protection, the introduction and implementation of favorable policies, and the waste sorting policy being implemented in Shanghai, my country’s renewable resource industry is expected to harvest a larger incremental market. As a strategic emerging industry that encourages development, the renewable resource industry will enter a new peak period of development.
